On Thursday, November 21, 2024, Denia, Alicante, hosted the 43rd José Marsal Caballero Awards, organized by Denia FM Radio. This event, which has a significant impact throughout the region, pays tribute to the hard work, dedication, and excellence of the local community.
As a specialist in branding and graphic design, participating in an event of this magnitude was a unique opportunity to apply my vision on building visual experiences that connect emotionally with the public and reinforce the brand's graphic identity.
// Creating the Gala's Visual Identity
At holaGRUP’s Department of Communication and Digital Creativity, we had the privilege of designing the visual identity for this very special gala. Our goal was clear: to capture the essence of the event and translate it into a visual narrative that reflected the duality between tradition and modernity.
The Graphic Concept: Tradition and Future in Harmony
The gala addressed a key topic: the convergence of traditional media and artificial intelligence (AI). This concept permeated both the speeches and the visual aesthetic of the event. Here’s how we brought it to life:
Inspiring Set Design:
We designed a stage divided into two halves:- One that evoked the past, with a vintage style that honored traditional media.
- Another futuristic and technological one, representing the impact of AI in the present and the future.
Dual Graphic Identity:
We used a combination of classic elements and technological details to convey this duality. We maintained a consistent visual connection with previous editions, ensuring continuity in the event's identity.Audiovisual Production:
We integrate iconic photographs and videos with technological effects, highlighting key moments and adding dynamism to the visual experience.
// Promotional materials: A consistent visual identity
To complement every aspect of the event, we designed a variety of promotional materials, ensuring consistency across all visual touchpoints:
- Photocall: Specifically designed to showcase photos of attendees alongside sponsor logos.
- Graphics for Social Media and Displays: Materials designed to promote the event before, during, and after it takes place.
- Visual Recap: A post-event visual compilation capturing the highlights and emotions of the night.
// More Than Just Design: A Brand Experience
The gala not only honored award winners but also celebrated core values such as perseverance, community engagement, and personal growth. As a graphic designer, my mission for this project was not simply to create visually appealing graphics, but to deliver a unique experience that would emotionally connect with the audience and reflect the event’s core values.
These types of projects reinforce my belief that design is much more than a communication tool; it is a way of telling stories, building connections, and creating visual identities that transcend time.
